The Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory (NREL) within the UNC/NC State Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to assist in evaluating and improving advanced neural control for wearable robotic assistive devices, which are used to enhance mobility and stability.
Required Qualifications
- A recent Ph.D. degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Biomedical Engineering or related fields.
- Research experiences in gait, balance, posture evaluation, and experimental design.
- Understanding fundamental concepts of control and physical human machine interaction.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills (with records of peer-reviewed publication) and coding skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in human motor control and learning, mechatronic systems, electromyography data analysis, metabolic measurement, Opensim, and musculoskeletal modeling.
- Experience with patient populations with lower limb disability.
- Programming skills (MATLAB, C++, LabVIEW etc.)
