The Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Engineering Laboratory (NREL) at the UNC/NCSU Joint Department of Biomedical Engineering invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to transfer the knowledge in Computational Motor Control to Rehabilitation Applications. Currently, one position is available immediately.
Required Qualifications:
- A recent Ph.D. degree in Biomedical, Electrical, or Mechanical Engineering or related fields.
- Research experiences in two or more of the following areas: wearable robotics design or control, control theory (robust control and optimal adaptive control), biomechanics (focusing on gait, balance, and walking energetics), Machine learning and signal processing (especially EMG signal processing and computer vision), computational modeling of human motor control and learning.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in rehabilitation robotics
- Programming skills (MATLAB, C++, LabView etc).
- Record of peer-reviewed publications.
Prof. He (Helen) Huang is the director of NREL. This position provides an exciting opportunity for individuals who wish to work in a highly multidisciplinary research lab.
